The VHS tapes listed here are a mix of both entertainment and instructional titles, with the majority being martial arts related movies.  When possible, I have given a personal review of each title.  In some cases, particularly with the general movie titles, I have provided links out to Amazon.com and to the Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB) so you can get an idea what others think.

As for recommendations, I can certainly point a few out!  As you may know by now, I am studying the I.K.C.A. system of Chinese Kenpo and there are some killer VHS tapes out there directly from the Karate Connection.  If you are studying the system, I would recommend that you take a look at the training tapes.  They are broken up by belt level and provide instruction directly from founding Grandmasters Chuck Sullivan and Vic LeRoux! Even if you are currently studying this system under a certified instructor, these tapes are still a great source for reference.

Another great set of tapes from the Karate Connection is the Freestyle Fighting set.  This set features fantastic instruction from some great instructors of I.K.C.A. Kenpo, such as Steve Muhammad (Sanders), Glen Lyman, Armando Deloa and many more.  This one is a must see!

If you are looking for some light hearted entertainment with a kick (pardon the pun), you might check out Big Trouble in Little China. Although the top names on the bill are not martial artists, there are plenty of top notch recognizable martial artists dominating the screen throughout the movie. It has a little bit of everything and a whole lot of action. It's a great weekend afternoon flick.

Jeff Speakman stars in a movie called The Perfect Weapon. Although Speakman has been in a few movies, this movie is still the best at allowing him to show off his American Kenpo skills, in my humble opinion. The story is sort of loose but the action is solid and it's always great to watch a solid martial artist in action. This movie also touches lightly on a few of the traditions and a little bit of background on Kenpo, such as the Tiger and the Dragon. I very much enjoy this film and I think you will too.

There are some other great movies listed here.  Follow the links at the tops of the pages to navigate and have fun!
